Trisodium phosphate Basic information :
In aqueous form and in compounds containing crystalline water. The most common is trisodium phosphate decahydrate. Its molecular form is Na₃PO₄. Molecular weight 380.14, CAS No. 7601-54-9. The appearance is white or colorless granular crystal, easy to weather, easy to dissolve in water, the aqueous solution is strongly alkaline, the pH value of 1% aqueous solution is about 12.1, the relative density is 1.62.
Quality standard: trisodium phosphate content ≥98%, chloride ≤1.5%, water insoluble matter ≤0.10%.
Application field:
Water treatment: As an excellent water softening agent, it can be combined with calcium and magnesium plasma in water to form precipitation, reduce the hardness of water and prevent scale formation, and is widely used in chemical industry, textile, printing and dyeing, paper making, power generation and other industries of water treatment and boiler scale prevention.
Metal surface treatment: It can be used as a metal surface pretreatment agent to remove oxides, rust and dirt on the metal surface, increase the adhesion of the metal surface, facilitate the subsequent surface coating treatment such as electroplating, electrophoresis and spraying, and can also be used as a metal corrosion inhibitor or rust prevention agent.
Detergent: Because of its strong alkaline, it is used in the formula of strong alkaline cleaning agent, such as car cleaning agent, floor cleaning agent, metal cleaning agent, etc., and can also be used as a detergent for food bottles, cans, etc., but also to enhance the decontamination ability of detergent, remove stains and grease on clothing, and prevent dirt redeposition.
Printing and dyeing industry: as a dyeing fixing agent and fabric mercerizing enhancer, it helps dye to better diffuse and penetrate on the fabric, improve the printing and dyeing effect, and make the fabric more smooth and shiny.
Enamel industry: used as a flux, decolorizing agent, reduce the melting point of enamel, improve its quality and color.
Leather industry: used as a fat remover and degluing agent to help remove fat and impurities in rawhide and improve the quality and properties of leather.
Metallurgical industry: used as chemical degreasing agent, preparing chemical degreasing agent for bonding surface, removing oil and impurities on metal surface.
Pharmaceutical industry: can be used as weak alkaline buffer to maintain pH value in biological body, and can also be used as emulsifier, stabilizer and slow release controlled release agent of pharmaceutical preparations
