(Scope of application reference ‘product usage’)
A covalent inorganic compound with the formula FeCl3. It is black and brown crystal, also has thin sheet, melting point 306℃, boiling point 316℃, easily soluble in water and has strong water absorption, can absorb moisture in the air and delix. FeCl3 is precipitated from aqueous solution with six crystal waters as FeCl3·6H2O, and ferric chloride hexahydrate is an orange yellow crystal. It's a very important iron salt.

Product Usage
Main use
Mainly used for metal etching, sewage treatment. Among them, etching includes the etching of copper, stainless steel, aluminum and other materials, which has the advantages of good effect and cheap price for the treatment of raw water with low oil degree, but it has the disadvantages of yellow water color. It is also used for printing cylinder engraving, electronic industrial circuit board and fluorescent digital cylinder production.
The construction industry is used to prepare concrete to enhance its strength, corrosion resistance and water resistance. It can also be prepared with ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, hydrochloric acid, etc., as a water-repellent agent for mud coagulants, and is used in inorganic industry for the manufacture of other iron salts and inks.
The dye industry uses it as an oxidant in the dyeing of Indycotin dyes.
Used as a mordant in the printing and dyeing industry. Metallurgical industry is used as a chlorination impregnating agent to extract gold and silver. The organic industry is used as catalyst, oxidant and chlorination agent.
Glass industry used as hot colorant for glassware.
Soapmaking industry used as a condensing agent for recovering glycerin from soap waste liquid.
Another important use of ferric chloride is hardware etching, etching products such as: spectacle frames, clocks, electronic components, nameplates.
