Main use

1, paper industry used as a paper sizing agent to enhance the water resistance and impermeability of paper, play a role in whitening, sizing, retention, filtration and so on. It is recommended to use iron-free aluminum sulfate, which will not have any adverse effect on the color of the white paper.

2, used as a flocculant in water treatment, aluminum sulfate dissolved in water can make fine particles and natural colloidal particles in water condensed into large flocculent, used in drinking water treatment can control the color and taste of water.

3. Aluminum sulfate is mainly used as cement enhancer in the cement industry, and the proportion of aluminum sulfate used in the production of cement enhancer is 40-70%.

4. Used in printing and dyeing industry, when dissolved in a large number of neutral or slightly alkaline water bodies, colloidal precipitation of aluminum hydroxide is produced. When printing and dyeing fabrics, aluminum hydroxide colloids make dyes more easily attached to plant fibers.

5, used as a tanning agent in the tanning industry, it can combine with the protein in the leather, make the leather soft, wear-resistant, and increase its antibacterial properties and waterproof properties.

6. It is used as raw material (astringent) in cosmetics to suppress perspiration.

15, for horticultural color, adding aluminum sulfate to fertilizer can make plant flowers turn blue.

16, aluminum sulfate can also adjust the pH value of the soil, because it produces a small amount of dilute sulfuric acid solution while hydrolyzing aluminum hydroxide, which can promote the structural improvement of the clay, improve the soil permeability and drainage.

17, aluminum sulfate can work together with surfactants to improve the suspension of particles in the liquid, reduce the agglomeration of particles, so as to effectively prevent particle precipitation, increase the stability of the liquid.

18, used as a catalyst. Aluminum sulfate can be used as a catalyst for some chemical reactions. For example, in petroleum refining, it can be used in catalytic cracking reactions to convert heavy petroleum molecules into lightweight products.
